Assembler Requirements & Engagement Guidelines
Flat Pack Perth coordinates flat pack assembly work on behalf of customers across Perth.
We engage a network of independent contractors who meet our professional standards and safety requirements.
This document outlines the minimum requirements, expectations, and process for all assemblers who wish to receive job opportunities through Flat Pack Perth.
1. Contractor Status
By joining the Flat Pack Perth network, you:
Operate as an independent contractor, not an employee.
Are responsible for your own tax, superannuation, insurance, and business compliance.
Determine your own availability, schedule, and job selections.
Flat Pack Perth does not direct how work is carried out.
We simply coordinate customer enquiries and job allocation.
2. Minimum Requirements
To receive job opportunities, you must have:
ABN:
Public Liability Insurance (min. $10M)
Current National Police Clearance
Photo Identification
Own Tools & Transport
Optional but recommended:
• Working With Children Check (for schools, childcare centres, family homes upon request)
3. Professional Standards
All assemblers must:
Arrive on time and communicate promptly with customers.
Complete work in line with manufacturer instructions and safety recommendations.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Treat customer premises with care and respect.
Notify Flat Pack Perth immediately if delays or issues arise.
4. Safety & Wall Anchoring
If a job involves tall or potentially unstable furniture, you must:
Anchor the item to the wall if the customer has confirmed YES to anchoring.
Follow manufacturer safety instructions when anchoring.
Inform the customer if anchoring is strongly recommended for safety.
Flat Pack Perth obtains anchoring acknowledgement from the customer before posting a job.
Do not anchor without customer approval.
Do not leave unstable items unanchored if the customer approved anchoring.
5. Job Allocation & Quoting Process
A job enquiry is posted to the Flat Pack Perth Job Noticeboard.
You may review the job details and submit a quote if interested.
Quotes are reviewed and one assembler is selected based on suitability.
If approved, you will receive the customer’s contact details.
You contact the customer directly to arrange the appointment.
6. Payment Terms
You invoice Flat Pack Perth after the job is completed.
Flat Pack Perth pays you the quoted amount minus the 30% service fee.
Payments are processed within 2–3 business days of customer confirmation.
This ensures transparency and quality control.
7. Assistants or Additional Personnel
If you bring additional workers:
They must also meet the same verification requirements (Police Clearance, Insurance).
You are responsible for their conduct, safety, and performance.
8. Confidentiality
Customer personal details (name, phone, address) must not be shared, stored, or reused for direct marketing or contact.
All customer communications occur only for that job.
